Gone. Once again he'd been led astray, some senior citizen with horrid eyesight or a young school girl more fond of the idea of following him around than giving him the truth. 'Liars.' So much truth in that one word, it sickened him how some things had just seemed to up and disappear from society altogether. 'Like him.' The boy with the liquid gold eyes, only, he wouldn't be very much of a boy now. What if he'd never recognize him, the changing of time morphing his lovely face into that of a beast not fit for walking the streets? The possibility didn't seem to horrify him much, because R-he would always be his other half. The members of Arcadia didn't seem all too fond of this little side mission, Ruki didn't make much of an anarchist when his mind was not into it. "Not like there's been anything better to do lately, anyway." The silky timbre rumbled through his chest, suggesting just how tired he was at that moment, greatly standing out in the large green field. Clashing colors.
Ruki lay there in the grass, fingers intertwining with the small blades as the other rested harmlessly on his chest. Yes, today had been just another day of him running around with a foolish hope of finding that boy. Apparently, the tip had been that the one with liquid gold eyes had been seen out here in this very field. He should have known it would turn out to be a false lead, people were not as truthful as they used to be, especially when a shifter had you by the throat. Then, well, you would do whatever you could to get them to go away. People no longer looked at him like he was there best fantasy, and if they did it would be of their dirtiest kind. Being attracted to a shifter seemed to be just as bad as being one, but it would never make a difference. Ruki had learned to loathe the humans just as much as he did the FBI, they were no different. He asked not for their approval, for their acceptance. If they weren't shifter blood, they were good as dead to him. 'Mindless cattle.'
The young man sighed, rose colored eyes pearing up at the sky one last time, as though he would appear there. It was a futile attempt though, because no ivory wings would be appearing in that empty blue canvas today.'I should have gone into the city, at least I would be doing something remotely fun. Like causing some trouble, that would surely irritate our local little law abiders.' The curves of his lips tilted up slightly, hinting at the grin that wanted to spread across the rest of his face. The thought of causing some choas never ceased to amuse him, the darker side always drew him in. He'd done his fair share, though theft seemed to be more of his calling, seeing as black was already his color. He'd forgone his usual amount of leather and silk that day, opting for a much more casual outfit when the prospect of running around in some field all day didn't seem worth the risk of ruining a good pair of clothes. It happened to be one of those 'rare' outfits he wore.
To most the loose long sleeved shirt would seem normal, it's black coloring not looking nearly as threatening as it would when adorning his body. The collar hung a little low, baring fair skin in smaller amounts than what was common. A pair of tight jeans clung to the lower half of his body, matching in color. It was safe to say that you would most likely be able to spot him a mile away in that field, he was the darkest thing there in that afternoon sun. His deep purple hair lay haphazardly around his head, odd against the more natural emerald grass. A lovely boy he'd been at one time, pure features now corrupted with a number of things he should have never seen. "Would it be too much to ask for someone to walk by? Or am I refused company as well?" It was a question meant for no one, placed out into the open air just so his ears could hear an actual voice. "Shit." It would have been comical if anyone had been in the area to hear it, the defeated tone quite a contrast to his earlier words of a confident kind. It was apparent, he had just set to digging his own grave.

City lights and bar fights no longer interested the lyricist, although he wasn’t sure if they had ever really interested him at all. The petty wants and needs of the average, normal human were not something that anyone could really draw inspiration from, although he figured that he had to at least pat himself on the back for trying. He knew his sister — if his sister still cared about him — would’ve mourned to see him in such a depressed state. Then again, he knew that her opinion of him no longer mattered. She was gone, and she was nowhere to be found in Equivo City. So why did he bother trying? It was going to haunt him until the day he died, to know that he was the cause for his sister running away, and Kio wasn’t sure how he was going to live with himself. So he had to get away from the city, and definitely get away from town square. He couldn’t bare to be amongst the normal people, and for that reason, had made sure that his usual lion tail and his eagle-like claws were kept in check and put away, replaced with normal hands and the tail, non-existent. They made an appearance whenever his anger levels rose, which was why the silver haired lad decided to take a walk in the simplicities of nature. It was for his own good.
Kio’s movements were slow, steady, for he found that it was much easier to write when he was amongst nature. His small notepad was already cluttered with pages upon pages for lyrics in a song, and while they didn’t make much sense, he knew he’d sort them out so that they would later. His usual sharpie marker was kept gripped easily in his hand, it’s thin tipped point making it easy for his script writing to fly across the page. Everything here was so pure, so unblemished by man’s cruel desire to destroy… He felt his sister would have loved a place like this, a place so pure, unblemished and free… Could she be hiding in the woods? Could she be dancing amongst the grass? Her memory was so full as he thought of her, that Kio almost thought he heard her laugh, her tiny feet dancing amongst the young blades of grass. Snapping his eyes up from his notepad, he looked about, expecting to see her… But found that she wasn’t there. “Of course,” he muttered to himself, shaking his head back and forth. “She is gone… she won’t come back.”
It was something he needed to learn to accept, and the quicker he did, the happier he’d be. However, the shifter merely sighed, returning back to his musings, writing down all of his thoughts on the notepad once more. He was surprised to see his lyrics go from peaceful to enraged, but he figured that it was merely his inner beast trying to worm it’s way out of his system on paper. Groaning, the silver haired lad erased a few lines, making sure to keep walking as he wrote, so that he could take in as much of nature as it was possible. However, once his sister was in his mind, it was hard to get her own. He groaned, for now the lyrics had turned too personal now, his own feelings of regret and anguish leaking onto the page. With a flourish, he scribbled out the whole line of lyrics, flipping to a clean page, starting anew. Yet he had lost his will to write, now, especially with Emiko clouding his mind. Would he ever move on? No, probably not. He needed to, needed to just get on with life. Sometimes he was so burdened by her loss, that he wished that she was dead.
What kind of brother was that? Kio wondered to himself, fiddling with the sleeves of his shirt. Maybe not a good brother at all. Maybe a brother who needed to just give up with lyrics, because they’d always be about the same thing at the end of the day. He was about to turn around, about to give up and go back home (wait, home? Now that was a funny thought! Kio had no home, no place where he was welcome…) when a voice caught his ear. He followed the faint sound, hearing it as clearly as it could, from the position he was in. "Would it be too much to ask for someone to walk by? Or am I refused company as well?" He chuckled softly at that, stepping closer to the person laying idly in the grass.
His eyes were still on his notepad, as usual, for he was never the sort of person to step up to another and start conversion, but he had already chuckled and gave himself away, so might as well. “Company is always refused to those who set themselves apart,” was what he muttered softly, his voice not too serious, almost pensive, as if he wasn’t just referring to the stranger. He didn't mean anything deep by that really, was just commenting on their location. Not too many people came out to the field lately, not when there was 'so much' to do in the city...but then decided that if this person was a shifter, it could have another meaning as well. Deciding that his spoken sentence would work well in his latest song, he scribbled that down, before looking down to see who he was talking to. The amethyst-eyed lad looked normal enough, probably wasn’t even a shifter to begin with, which unnerved Kio just a tad. Talking to shifters was one thing he could tolerate, but what if this one really was a human? Well, there was only one way to find out: ask. And he wasn’t about to do something as blunt as that.

The rose coloring to his eyes had vanished already, leaving room to the amethyst pair that spoke more volumes of 'human' than it did shifter. At times he hated that, how he could be easily mistaken for another one of those sheep, and at other times it proved to be useful. Like when his very life depended on him blending in, and fast. He was still years beyond perfecting control, but damn if he wasn't doing a pretty fine job so far. Ruki was nearly into a frame of mind where he would be cut from the rest of the world until something cut off the connection, though it had been small and he missed most of it. The noise didn't register as human or animal, so the young shifter nearly jerked his in the direction of the source until he could see what had snuck up on him. 'Don't make excuses, you weren't paying attention! Damn, if one of the boys saw that I would have been chewed out for letting my guard down.' But it was practically the country, any danger out here would have been more along the lines of a runaway tractor, not a fbi agent. However, the human form caused him to calm down enough to get back to a rational mind. This person was no threat at all. 'Let's hope.'
The boy standing before him didn't look that old, and the notepad in hand made him look less of a threat, but Ruki couldn't help the feeling that he still didn't belong there. The stranger looked normal, there wasn't a real hint as whether to classify him as friend or foe. It wasn't until he realized that, what he guessed as a noise made by the new company, had been followed by a string of audible words as well. Company is always refused to those who set themselves apart. Ruki brought himself up to rest on his forearms, wanting to be able to talk to this person while looking at him in the eye. It was easier to see if a reaction was genuine that way, the eyes always gave it away. The new vantage point allowed him to take in the features of the young man, and the raven shifter found the grin from earlier being painted across his face despite the inner voices telling him to tread lightly. The boy could have been keeping an eye on him since he had been given that lead, but the voice in which he made his statement caused Ruki to believe he wasn't much of a danger to him, and not nearly bold enough to fight him off if he decided to be difficult as usual. 'Someone, save him.'
If the stranger had hoped for a nice, friendly face than he was going to get a lot more than he bargained for. It wasn't until he realized that the other male wasn't going to say another word that Ruki decided to speak up. "Yeah, I guess it's my own fault for choosing this field of all places, but I think it would have been the same thing if I had gone out to the city. At least I'm not subject to investigation out here." The deep timbre had developed a slight purr, trying to lure the young man into the conversation, seeing at any point he was liable of walking away. He was very much a devilish creature, and hopefully his new friend could withstand such behavior. "Any reason why you're out here?" Overly curious eyes quickly jumped back to the notepad being written, suddenly developing a hunger to know things that weren't any of his business. But that had never stopped him before, and the knowledge that it was something special to the other man caused him to hold onto the subject. "What are you writing down?" The timbre of his voice held the purr, but the tone was a lot more lively than earlier, suddenly suggesting that he was wide awake. Found a reason to be.
There was a sudden discomfort in his back, feeling like it wanted to split open, though the most it showed on his face was a slight wince. He fought the urge to allow his hand to rub his back, already taking notice that he had stayed in this form a little too long. What he wouldn't give to just allow the large ebony wings room to spread out, but right now that wasn't possible. He was in the company of a stranger, and he really didn't feel all that comfortable, despite the overly comfortable impression he was about to give off. "Why don't you take a seat here on the grass? It'd be easier to write if you weren't standing straight up like that. I promise I don't bite, I promise." He fully sat up that time, allowing him to raise one hand in the air and place the other over his heart in a gesture that was supposed to strengthen his statement. However, if the blue eyed youth hadn't been another stranger, he would have known the raven shifter never lied. As a matter of fact, he'd been yelled at on more than one occasion by the rest of Arcadia for not willing to stray from the truth whenever they were talking to law like figures. Just another one of his flaws, yes, flaws.
