‘I haven’t been this happy in a long time. Maybe it is because I’m a bit more comfortable in myself than I was before. I don’t know. I remember a time when I never thought I would feel this good. I was so young, and everyone seemed to be picking on me, teasing me, calling me names…all because of my eyes. Everyone else had normal eyes; blue, green, brown, grey…and then there was me. The freak with the purple eyes. I was just…different I guess. But that didn’t stop them; it wasn’t a good enough excuse for them. They still carried on, even until I left. And then there was Izuma. I won’t forget her, ever. She was my best friend back then, but we separated. I wonder how she is now. She’s probably doing well I suppose, she was just that good. Then I went on to high school. I won’t ever forget that day either…the day I found out I was a Shifter. It was awful, painful and so sudden too. I scared tons of kids that day, so I had to transfer to a special school. But, at least I can control it now. I could even keep the tail if I wanted to.’
Purple eyes looked at the horizon, finger raised and pointing ahead as she named the buildings in the distance. Surprisingly sunny for a winters day, there was also a warm breeze floating past. She lay in the white flowers, making sure not to crush any as she cleared a space for herself with a swipe of her hand. Petals floated in the air, drifting over her resting body as she lowered her hand, resting her head on the ground. It was a very nice day, or at least she thought so. A small smile was on her face, gentle sigh passing over her lips. The golden haired girl rolled onto her back, looking up at the sky. It was quite grey and grim, but a sunbeam poked out and illuminated where she lay, providing a nice bit of heat. Folding her hands behind her head, the girl watched some small white clouds drift over the grey ones slowly, trying to keep herself occupied. It was a hard task, considering she was quite bored. The flowers swayed effortlessly in the breezes, their scent making the area smell rather fresh. The smile on her face widened, a giggle coming out as she watched a small flock of birds cross the sky. She felt like leaping into the air and grabbing one, despite the large distance between her and them. Perhaps it was a Shifter thing or something like that.
“Haruka ni sotto yurameku urei, kattou no kioku ni ugokasare, mabuta ni zutto haritsuku, shiroi zekkyou ni kogoeta…”
Words hung in the air for a moment, before drifting away into the ever present silence once more. Smile faded as the sun was shaded by a large cloud, a frown in its place. Her singing had evidently offended the sun somehow. Shrugging her shoulders into the flowers, she closed her eyes and quietly hummed the rest of her song. Her favourite place was the hill covered with white flowers. It was very tranquil, and a good place to come if she ever fancied dabbling in painting. Feeling calm coming over her, the golden haired girl let her humming fade into silence, just like her words.
with a count of 568 words, the shifter hikari is singing away, awaiting company from another to take away her boredom.
translation: Sorrow flickers softly in the distance, memories of conflict set in motion, always clinging to my eyes, the white scream froze...

The day was bright for a winter morning. It really was gorgeous out -- the sun glittered high in the sky, and all of the snow was finally showing some signs of melting away. This would make many feel happy, but left Kaonami in a bit of a melancholy mood. She always did love the winter, and the approaching spring was her worst favorite season.
The blue haired girl sighed quietly, her breath puffing out in a small cloud from her nose. A quiet breeze fluttered through her hair, and as she stood in the distance, a few yards away from Hikari, she put a strand of hair behind her ear. Her eyes scanned the area. Her expression looked very tired and worn -- she was obviously tired of something, but of what, even she wasn't sure of. She sighed once again and decided to take a seat on a lone log. Hikari wasn't even really there in her mind; no one was. She was clear and free from all troubles and bothers, making her seem calm, though still a bit sad.
The tinkling, smooth sound of a song brought the dragon shifter back to her senses. She frowned, her brow furrowing as she wondered where the sound was coming from. It was a beautiful song, and it brought a small smile to her face. This was when she finally noticed that Hikari was sitting near her. She smirked -- she had seen her only a few times, but she knew that she was a shifter, a lioness one. She blinked and tilted her head to the side.
"That's a beautiful song, Hikari," she said gently.

Violet eyes continued to stare into the sky. She found it quite hard to keep her gaze upwards, as the sunlight was blinding her, making small black and colored spots appear before her eyes. Groaning as she turned over onto her side, she closed her eyes, the scent of the flowers tickling her nose. If she was allergic to them, she would be in a fit of sneezing by now. She twisted her right hand in her golden locks of hair, running her fingers down again, feeling the knots slip effortlessly out of her hair. Her other hand was resting to the side of her body, fingers curled around the stem of one of the small flowers. She picked it from the ground, opened her eyes and started at it. Slowly, she twisted it between two fingers, the flower almost dancing in her hand. It made her smile and giggle quietly to herself. Carefully, she wormed the flower into the pocket of her dress, eyes closing again. It felt good to be lying in the flowers. It made her feel calm and at ease. She wasn’t stressed or anything, but it did feel nice.
A winter breeze shot past her, and it felt like she had been cut. Letting out a shocked gasp, the golden haired girl shot up quickly, looking around. The wind had caught her, and it felt like something had brushed passed her. But there was nothing out there. Looking around, her violet eyes scanned the surrounding area. The hills seemed peaceful enough to her.
And then something caught her attention. Well, someone.
A few feet away, was a lone long she had passed. It was thickly coated in shedding bark, but that wasn’t what was interesting her. Sitting on the log, was another girl. Well, to put it exactly, another woman. It was easy to see that she was taller than herself, and well balanced too. Her hair was as blue as sapphires, and her eyes were the same colour too. It wasn’t until she spoke, that the blonde haired girl snapped out of her mild daze. Shifting position so she was sitting, cross-legged, facing the other, she suddenly felt very embarrassed. The compliment had just hit her. Her cheeks began to turn a lovely shade of rose pink, and her violet eyes fell to the flowers. She knew the other girl. They went to the same collage. They passed each other frequently, exchanged names and had very short conversations whenever they had the chance.
She never thought that she would be in the hills, she didn’t…well, seem the type. Or at least, that was what she thought anyway. Having the courage to lift her eyes back up again, she smiled weakly and sheepishly. “T-thank you Kaonami-chan. I didn’t realise y-you were here too.” Looking back down again, Hikari realised she had probably just made a fool of herself. Again. She seemed to have a habit of doing that around Kaonami Shizuma, and she no idea why that was. Then again, she didn’t have a clue about many things. Shaking her head a little, the flower fell out of her pocket, but she didn’t notice. “The song isn’t anything much really…” Her words were muttered, but still floated on the air, and were probably heard.
with a count of 549 words, the shifter hikari has been spotted by kaonami shizuma, and has been complimented, much to her dislike.

Kaonami's eyes were trained on the girl's hair -- for some reason, it was something that she couldn't get over. It was a gorgeous golden hue, and it always seemed to sparkle brightly in the sunlight. She had always admired her hair from afar, and in particular admired the contrast it provided.
this is clearly a wip. gimme time. D:
