Resting against a tree stump, he had a worn out looking book in his hand. It was most likely something by Hawthorne or Dickens. He had one arm behind his head as he read. He smiled as he flipped the page, bright yellow eyes scanning the pages, taking in the words, thoughts, feelings. It was like it was happening right before his eyes. Kaito buried his face within the book, eyes growing wide with each sentence, the feeling within his chest expanding. There was instant shock, then calm, as he let out a sigh of relief. He adjusted his hat before going onto the next page. It was extremely interesting to the young man.
Moving aside some of the blond bangs that fell in his face he moved the book several inches away from his face, but still in reading distance. He chuckled a few times, getting a kick out of a joke a character made, or just plan laughing at their actions. The shifter sighed, looking up at the sky, giving his eyes a break. Blinking them a few times he set the book down in the grass and stretched. It was nice to be out on a warm day like this, when the weather had been so cold the days before. Maybe a nap was something he needed, oh definitely. Stretching out beside the stump he laid the book on his chest and closed his eyes.
Kaito had fallen asleep quickly, his dreams filled with various ideas and color, like stories. Maybe if he remembered any, he should put them on paper.

"Dannaaaaa! Why's it so borin' out today?" a slightly high, annoyed voice whined. Feet suddenly erupted from a lone oak tree. They dangled in agitation as their owner tried his best to look for something to do. There were a few scattered leaves in his hair and on his clothing, making the sixteen year old shape shifter look even more juvenile than normal. His big red eyes stared up at the sun, his legs swinging and kicking under him. The branch he sat on seemed to screech in protest to his weight.
Daimasuke looked around, lips pursed in either disappointment, boredom, or both. He sighed. "Today's such a pretty day, too," he mumbled in disappointment. It really was too bad that he had no one to share it with.
The sound of laughter made Dai's sensitive pointed ears twitch slightly. He blinked, his large red eyes traveling directly towards a lone stump in the middle of the grass. A figure seemed to be leaning against it, laughing at some book he was reading. Ewww, books, they were so boring. Daimasuke made a little face before he finally shook himself out of it. The bat morph then proceeded to shift into his normal, vampire bat form and flutter over to the man. He seemed to be a shifter, too, which made things less complicated for him.
"Yo yo, danna~" he chirped before shifting back to normal, landing softly on the ground with a stupid grin on his face. Hopefully he could make conversation with this dude...cuz he seemed kinda smart...

The male shifter turned in his sleep, arms splayed out in front of him, the book dropped to the grass, resting there as he continued to sleep and dream. He knew little of the newer, smaller presence, he continued to sleep on without much trouble. He heard a voice, faint, but a voice. "Yo yo, danna~" He twitched, hearing the sound of something drop as he woke up from his short, interrupted nap. Kaito groaned, sitting up, momentarily taking off his hat to run fingers through the sun-colored hair before putting the black piece of fabric back on. Titling his head back he stared at the man, he was strange indeed, purple hair and red eyes. Was he a shifter like himself.
"...I was having the best dream..." he grumbled, grabbing his book and wiping off the various blades of grass. "Until you cam around and woke me up..." Kaito stood, placing the book underneath his arm, glaring down at the shorter man. He sighed, rolling his eyes and placing a hand on his hip with his free hand. He studied the shorter man, his head cocked to the side, studying him a little more. "Iino Kaito, nice to meet you...I guess...shifter?" he asked, stuffing the hand in his pocket.

The small bat shifter blinked a little, his head tilted to the side when he saw that the other was sleeping. He could tell that the guy was a shifter too, only because of his weird hat...thing. If that was a hat at all...ooh, maybe he should try and take it off! His red eyes brightened at the thought. Yeah, yeah, then he could put it on himself and run around in it, pretending to be a dog! Oooh, that would be so much fun~!
He began to lean forward, his hand reaching out to snatch the funny looking hat away, but before he could do much of anything, the shifter woke up, making poor Dai flail and rush away, screeching. "AIYEEEH!" Stupid Dai probably didn't realize that he was the one who woke the poor guy up in the first place, but either way, it probably wouldnt've mattered at all.
He blinked cautiously, red eyes narrowing. He stared at the hand outstretched towards him, not really sure what the hell he was supposed to do with it. So, because it was outstretched, he gave him a high five and a stupid, fanged grin. "I'm Daimasuke, danna! Nice to meet you." He blinked in surprise when Kaito -- that was his name, right? -- said something about him being a shifter. "Yeah, how'd you know?"
